Three challenge modes are not three campaigns
The official Demo page describes three quirk challenge modes and rotating special sets, using around 40 roles from the wider 175+ roster. A September developer interview says the Demo contains only the first region.
The full-game description instead has three regional campaigns, new role and quirk tiers, and a later Syndicate region. These are different kinds of scope. Do not combine the Demo’s mode count with the full game’s region count.
Why a 94-entry role list does not contradict “around 40”
The supplied Windows Demo v0.8.2 snapshot has 94 localized role entries. Those are text records bundled with the build, not a verified list of roles that can appear in that Demo’s cases. Some entries may be locked, unused or intended for other content.
Use a role’s actual in-game description when it is present in your case. A name existing in a data list is not an unlock instruction and does not establish availability. The focused role pages on this site explain selected deduction interactions; they are not a claim to the full playable roster.
What the launch notice says about the Demo
The October 13 official announcement says the current Demo will be delisted around launch and that an updated Demo is planned to better reflect the final game. It also says people who already have the current Demo installed should be able to keep playing it in the meantime.
The notice does not provide a release date for the replacement Demo or confirm transfer of saves and statistics. If your question is whether the Demo is currently installable, check its official Steam page; availability can change after this snapshot.
Match the rule before copying the advice
- Check whether you are in the current Demo, an older installed Demo, or the full game.
- Read the role’s description and the active quirks in that build.
- Compare the guide’s specific rule with that text, especially time triggers, alignment changes and clue scope.
- Reuse the example’s reasoning only where its assumptions match.
The address calculator is arithmetic rather than a version detector. It can still enumerate the sets for your inputs, but you decide which addresses and special counting rules belong in the model.
